E-mail Print

This superb-but-difficult trek allows you to discover Daulagiri (8167 m), or White Mountain, one of the most the western beautiful Himalaya. There is a long, difficult trek around Dhaulagiri that starts form the sub-tropical forests of the Myagdi valley. Follow the Mayangdi khola west wards to Darbang and turn north on a tiny trail that leads through forests into the high remote passes and glaciers of Daulagiri before reaching the Kali Gandaki Valley. Much of the route is on snow and glaciers as it crosses French Pass (5240 m), traverse the head if Hidden Valley, and crosses 5155 m Dhumpus Pass. The trek ends with a steep descent to Marpha and a return to Pokhara, either via the Kali Gandaki or over the Ghorapani ridge for a panoramic view of the entire Daulagiri Missif. Two routes are suggested for the return: Ghorepani-Poon Hill-Birethanti (total 28 days) or Tatopani- Beni- Baglung (22days).
